Subject: [comets-ml] New activity SWAN M4

Hello all,
I was out last night and to my surprise, the comet SWAN M4 had
brightened noticeably. Using the AAVSO chart for R CrB, I estimated
its magnitude at 5.4 at 1:00 UT (Oct. 25). It was very easy to see
with the naked eye. Through my 38cm reflector, the nucleus was a
perfect stellar point, yellow in color. Even at 286x, the nucleus
remained stellar. Its magnitude was approx. 9.8. It appears there is
an outburst occuring. Can anyone confirm this?
